About Course

ACE Tennis for Kids – Blue Book is designed to help show you some simple, fun and practical activities that you can copy to play with children aged approximately 2 – 5 years.

Please note, that we are not suggesting that your child needs to learn tennis at this age. They need to develop their FUNdamental perceptual-motor skills, such as movement, throw and catch, and striking skills in a FUN journey based play way! The activities are designed to improve children’s coordination and, parents’ and coaches’ communication skills. Movement for children is an essential foundation for a healthy lifestyle and improved levels of co-ordination in children builds self-esteem leading to greater confidence. Parents often ask the question “What can I do at home to help my child build their hand-eye and hand-foot coordination?” The following fun activities can provide creative solutions to this question.

The main video chapters cover the four fundamental ingredients for success in sport: MOVEMENT, MAGIC (Striking skills), MISSION (Where to hit and how to receive) and MINDSET (Life Skills).

Remember that the ball is in your court.

Movement
The movement section offers activities to help develop physical skills that assist with how to “MOVE” and how to "STOP". It is an important time to develop basic locomotion skills.

Magic (Technique)
The magic refers to “HOW” to hit the ball. The reason I have chosen this word is due to the fun and imagination associated with the word magic.

Mission (Tactical)
The goal of each of these activities is to achieve a tactical mission, in other words, the focus is on sending skills (WHERE) to hit the ball and receiving skills (WHERE) is the ball coming from.

Mindset
E.X.P.L.O.R.E. is the word that is important at this stage of development because it encourages children to explore the game of tennis along with all of its lifelong benefits. Set for school skills.

OUTRO – Can you achieve the following competencies?
CONGRATS on completing the ACE Tennis for Kids - Blue Book and Video series. While there are no associated videos with the OUTRO, you should now be able to tick off the blue competencies.
