About Course

This course is for anyone who has not yet solved the riddle of how to create learning, challenge and fun from something that we do every single session: pick up balls. I too often see, the parents stepping in to pick up the balls regularly or the coach resorting to checking their phone while the players are completely disengaged and bored (sometimes even misbehaving) during the ball collection. It does not have to be that way anymore!! We have also added a bonus section with some tips and tricks around feeding – enjoy.

Course Content

INTRO
This course is for anyone who has not yet solved the riddle of how to create learning, challenge and FUN from something that we do every single lesson: pick up balls.

  • Welcome to Ball Pick-up has never been so much FUN

Chapter 1 – Games for FUNdamentals
This first chapter gets straight into the various fun ways that you can capture the interests of the players immediately through fun and engaging ball pick up activities.

Chapter 2 – Games for Athletic Development
In this chapter we are exploring the athletic benefits associated with ball collection.

Chapter 3 – Ball Collection with Conversation
The pick collection time can be very valuable to help build rapport with your clients by asking great questions to go deeper into the lesson content or asking about general life questions.

Chapter 4 – The Basket is Over-rated
Even though I am showing adults in these videos, the concept of letting go of too much basket feeding is the most important message to encourage the flow of using both open and closed activities.

BONUS: Post-COVID Coaching Tips
In this bonus chapter, we look at ways to help the children pick-up the balls without touching them as how using equipment can be a real game-changer.

BONUS: Feeding 101
While the basket is over-rated, this doesn't mean that a great coach ignores feeding. There is an art to feeding from how to hold the grip to the swing shape and always know your WHY.

OUTRO
We hope you enjoyed this course and that you and your players can enjoy the ball pick-up experience.
